Here are several photos taken of the Western Pacific # 165 which was moved from the Alameda County Fairgrounds on June 11 and 12, 2003.

On display April 2003.

Friction bearings in tender trucks have been oiled.

There are many bearings and other parts that must be lubricated prior to the locomotive being moved.

Gerald DeWitt works to remove a footboard bracket.

First lay some ties.

Add some rail.

Bend a curve.

Align the track.

Hook up the cable and give a pull.

Vertical transition ramps.

Ready to step up!

165 begins to move onto the transition track from temporary track to rails on the trailer.

A double header of sorts was required to pull the 165.

Moving onto the trailer.

All chained down and ready to move out.

All dressed up with somewhere to go.
