Steam powered rotary snowplows required large amounts of fuel and water. As large steam locomotives
were retired their large capacity tenders were retained for use with steam derricks and snowplows.
The tender in the photo appears to be from a former C & O 2-8-8-2, several of which were on the property
during the later part of WWII and were scrapped after the war.
