This F-4C-16-MC, S/N 63-7424, was manufactured by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft
Corporation in St Louis, Missouri, and accepted by the USAF on 3 February 1964.
Two days after delivery the plane was damaged in a crash landing with only 14 hours
of flight time. In 1966 the plane returned to the sky after extensive repairs and
modifications. For the majority of its working life the plane was used for flight testing
of various equipment. The plane became a static display in the Hill museum collection in 1989.
Suspended above the F-4C is a "T-Bird", T-33A-1-LO, S/N 51-9271, manufactured by
Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank, California, and delivered to the USAF on
18 June 1953. This plane eventually became the first aircraft in the museum collection.
