This C-54G-1-DO, S/N 45-502, was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft
in Santa Monica, California, and delivered to the USAAF on 26 June 1945.
In 1948 the plane participated in "Operation Vittles" (Berlin Airlift).
In 1992 the plane joined the museum collection and in 1995 it was
repainted to commemorate the Candy Bomber missions that were part of the Airlift.
