Mesa overview, looking southwest. Mesa is located on the upper level of the layout and represents a mid-20th century small town. This early 2004 photo shows Mesa before the trackage revision currently taking place. The hope is to add some automated switching action for eye appeal during the Fair, and some new operational interest for member run nights. Also visible is the helix that allows access to the upper levels of the layout ('mountain division') and the leads to the coal mine (from lower right to upper left.) Just barely visible in the dark areas at upper right is the lower-level engine service facility.
