Oildale's namesake refinery occupies the center of the lowest level of the layout, and processes the crude from the wells scattered through the area. Oildale provides fuel and/or cargo for many of the trains on the Sierra Western Railroad. The PA in the foreground is on long-term lease to the refinery and sees occasional service corralling loose tank cars. Just right of the photo is the main operators' position and dispatch panel.
